It has a homey feel, with lots of plants and a lovely rooftop terrace. The rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable. An easy, pleasant hotel to stay in.

The rooftop terrace is nice, and the location and service were great. But the hotel feels very outdated. The rooms are stuffy, have no windows, and do nothing to block sound, so you hear everything from outside and other rooms. The doors don’t lock either!

The staff were very friendly, but I don’t understand the positive reviews otherwise. The place is dated, and our basic room had no windows. There was a dehumidifier, but its reservoir was full, so it felt like a warm, damp basement. We ended up sleeping with the doors open all night just to make it bearable. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The main drawback was our private room. It had no outside windows, only a door and windows opening onto the central lounge, and it stayed warm and stuffy even when it was cool outdoors. There was nowhere in the room to hang or dry clothes, though you could put them on the terrace. The kitchen had the basics but was small. Laundry was available for 75Q a load, which seemed insanely expensive to me, even if that’s fairly standard in Antigua. The hosts were very friendly, and the main host spoke English well enough. The central lounge was cute, with lots of plants and comfy sofas. The location is great, and the rooftop terrace has awesome views of all 3 volcanoes, including Fuego erupting. Overall, it’s a nice place and I’d recommend it.
