Casa Madeleine Boutique Hotel & Spa

The view of Volcán de Agua is incredible, and the colonial feel of the place is lovely. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the city center. Our room and the amenities were well maintained, and the beds, sheets, and towels were very clean. Some of the common-area fabrics and the jacuzzi could use attention, and a few glass tables were broken. Still, a lovely stay with plenty of potential.

I was glad to find a room available for New Year’s at this gem. I’m surprised it doesn’t show up on more lists of top Antigua stays. The staff were helpful, it felt secure, and breakfast was delicious. There’s a sweet garden with mountain views, and the short walk from the busy town center suited me because I preferred somewhere quieter.

This small B&B is comfortable and great value for the price. I felt very safe, and there’s a room safe for valuables. They also leave water, drinks, and bananas each day. Breakfast was wonderful, and I enjoyed sitting in the beautiful courtyard and on the roof terrace. The staff were incredibly helpful, though they don’t speak much English. Two people in our party could converse with them. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to anywhere in Antigua we wanted to go.

The staff quickly took care of anything I needed, and the customer service was great. I liked the spacious, beautiful rooms, the garden, the sauna, and the city view from the balcony. Shops and good food are an easy walk away. I’ll be back in Guatemala and plan to stay here again. I also love that the hotel gives back to people in need and supports the local community through jobs and service.
