Elite Maya Spa

The inflatable jacuzzi was the main reason I booked, but it was cold. A staff member kindly came back three times to try filling it with hot water, though it still wasn’t warm enough to use properly. For what I paid, I expected much better and left really disappointed. The rooms were tiny, with nowhere to put even my small bag without it being in the way, and the bedding was poor quality. The walls were so thin I could hear other people’s TVs, and the main road was audible from my room. The bright white lights were glaring, too. The bathroom was so small the sink was in the bedroom. Noise from the doors in the main area was really loud, so bring earplugs. By the pool, elevator style music blared all day, and the whole place felt like a tacky family resort. The pool chairs had no cushions and were extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was complimentary, but very poor quality. The area wasn’t appealing, and it isn’t really walkable into the center. I had to wait about 15 minutes for an Uber driver to accept when I hadn’t booked in advance. That’s not especially long in the grand scheme of things, but it’s worth factoring into plans. Where I stayed more centrally, there was no wait. I wouldn’t recommend this place or say it was worth the price. I told the staff how disappointed I was and they apologized, but given the problems and what I paid, I expected some compensation.

The staff went above and beyond throughout my stay, and breakfast was delicious. Restaurants are close by, and everything is in one vicinity, which is convenient. The streets get busy, and it’s dark if you’re walking at night, but I felt safe. My complaints are about the room: it needed more space to walk around and a closet. I’ve noticed many hotels in Guatemala don’t always have closets, but having space to put things matters a lot to me. There weren’t any rods for towels, just one in the shower, so my towels got wet. I’d also have preferred separate conditioner, shampoo, and body wash. Sometimes it’s the small things. Still, I had an amazing stay, thank you! 10 stars for the staff, plus a bonus 😉 🙏🏽🥰

Oscar is so kind and goes above and beyond for customers. Every staff member gives great service, but he deserves a raise 💯. He’s the reason we want to stay here again next time we’re in town. If you’re thinking about staying here, do it!

I had a great massage here, and the staff were spectacular, every single one. The garden is beautiful, the rooms are clean, and it’s a great hotel. I’d totally recommend staying here.
