SCAM, RUDE OWNER. I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but this place felt threatening, not just badly managed. We paid for a room with a private bathroom, but the block was outside the room, and every time we went in, it was covered with other people’s feces. It was disgusting to use. When I called about it, the man on the phone said he couldn’t understand me because I don’t speak like a Guatemalan. I’m fluent in Spanish and have lived in Guatemala for over five years. He also tried to explain the obvious to me and kept talking over me until I hung up because I couldn’t stop the useless monologue. I went to reception to speak to someone face to face, but they said there was no manager available. I work in Antigua’s hospitality industry myself, and THIS IS NOT the standard. The place is basic but acceptable and very well located. The women working there are nice and accommodating. I feel extremely sorry for them and suggest they find work somewhere else.

We had the attic room. No windows, smelly bedding, and a washroom I wouldn’t dare go into.

Dark, nasty, dirty, and even worse than a hostel. Tear the place down and build something new. I’m sorry, but how can anyone let a hotel get like this when people need to sleep there? Shame on you. Thank goodness I stayed a couple of spots away at Hotel San Francisco. After checking in, I went to look at Feathers. Yes, San Francisco cost more, $68 a night compared to $40, but you couldn’t pay me to sleep here. Let me be honest, there is a god. Zombie attack, run for your lives!

There was no TV, the bed was broken, and there were no drawers for our things. The bunk beds looked like they were from the 1940s, and they were rusty, with a broken mattress. The towels weren’t even fit to use as mops or rags to dry a car. The hostess and crew didn’t tell us not to park on the street where the hotel is. Our car was towed because of a Holy Week procession. There was no sign posted, but the hotel knew and didn’t warn us. I don’t recommend staying here. Stay away.

I didn’t stay at the hostel, just ate at the pupuseria restaurant by reception. The pupusas were good and the service was 100%. We ordered the plate for two, which came with four pupusas of our choice and two coffees. I also had a fried egg with mine. We paid 100 Q with tips.
