Good Hotel Antigua Guatemala, a Member of Design Hotels

The hotel has a beautiful interior courtyard, a great location, and top-notch staff who gave outstanding service. I also love its mission to support local kids' education. I'd definitely stay again for the staff, service, location, and charm, but at USD300+ a night for the most basic room, they really should do more. The rooms are simple, almost basic, but nicely appointed and very dark. Their windows all face the courtyard, where people walk right past, so it's hard to have privacy and keep the windows and heavy curtains open for air. There are fans, but they're incredibly loud. The bathrooms are simple but well-appointed, though the bath towels are strangely not absorbent.

Madelyn / Madeleine, I'm not sure how to spell it, was on the late 10:30pm shift on 02.28.26 and gave us such a warm, calm welcome when we arrived late. The room is beautiful, with a really large, comfortable bed. I love the initiative behind this hotel.

The shower, beds, and food were all at a five-star hotel level, with lots of attention to small details. The receptionist was a wonderful person from the moment we arrived. I wish I could remember his name so I could mention him here. It was an excellent hotel for one night or for as long as you want to stay in Antigua. I recommend it.

Good Hotel Antigua is a social enterprise, and its profits support Guatemalan children's education. I was so happy to learn that, and would recommend staying here. The staff were super lovely and helpful, and the setting was beautiful, with tropical plants in the central courtyard. Our rooms opened onto it and had a volcano view from the patio, which also had an outdoor shower. The room was simple, modern, and luxurious, with lots of natural materials. We really appreciated being able to drink straight from the tap. There's a little kitchen with filtered coffee, plus tea and hot chocolate you can make any time and enjoy in the garden. Breakfast was included at the restaurant next door, Saul, and it was delicious. Lots of great bars, restaurants, and cafes are an easy walk away. This was the best hotel of our two-week Guatemala holiday, organised by Mayan Gateway.
