The location is very central, and I had no trouble with the nightclub noise in room 6, which has a queen bed and sits near the pool and dining area. I’d read that music at El Barrio stops at 12:30 a.m., and that was my experience too. The hotel has no restaurant, but you can bring food back and eat in the covered area by the pool. Coffee and water are available for self service all day, and the pool is lovely. Katie was especially helpful arranging trips, and the housekeeping team worked hard and efficiently. I found the rate very good and recommend booking directly for the best price. Nearby restaurants, all within about a five-minute walk, include Casa Escobar, Aqua Antigua, Lava Terrace, Cafe Condesa, Dona Luisa, El Sabor del Tiempo, and El Cazador Italiano.

We only stayed two nights, but I’d happily recommend it. The location is excellent, coffee is available throughout the day, and there’s a lovely pool. Our room was comfortable and pleasant, and the staff were friendly and ready to help.

The front desk staff were kind and polite, but that didn’t make up for how hard it was to rest here. I booked this place because I needed proper sleep, and that just wasn’t possible in my room, which bordered the nightclub. From around 4:00 PM until 1:00 AM the noise was overwhelming. Earplugs, a fan, and white noise didn’t help me sleep or even feel comfortable in the room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if rest matters to you. The hotel also wouldn’t offer a late checkout, which was especially disappointing after such a noisy night.

The music is exhausting. Wherever your room is, you’ll hear the nightclub blasting until 1 a.m., then music starts up somewhere else at 8 a.m. If you have an early day or need to rest, run. The room also hadn’t been cleaned properly. I found hair ties lying around, and the sink (see photos) and walls were disgusting.

Loved my stay this past week. It’s a cool little hotel beside an awesome park, and the staff went out of their way to help and take care of whatever we needed.
