Hotel La Quinta Lucia

We appreciated being allowed to check in early, and the staff were warm and friendly. The rooftop patio has lovely volcano views and is a nice spot to unwind. The hotel was clean throughout. Our room was small, though that didn’t bother us much. It did get hot and muggy, and the only window we could open looked onto the main staircase, where people often passed by. That made it hard to get airflow while still having privacy. Wi-Fi also wasn’t available throughout the hotel during our stay; it only worked in the lobby on the first floor. The views and welcoming staff were great, but the room comfort had some drawbacks.

For the price, it was pretty decent. The rooms were dark, and the thin walls meant we could hear what was happening around the hotel from very early in the morning, around 6am for us. Just an okay hotel.

The location is handy, right across from the main markets. Rooms are comfortable, but quite small, with no wardrobe or space for clothes, so probably fine for a short stay.

We felt welcome as soon as we arrived. The building is well maintained, and it’s clean, accommodating, and quiet at night. Of the hotels we tried in Antigua, this one was easily the best. I’d happily stay again and would recommend it.
