Hotel Palacio Chico 1850

The hallways and rooms stayed fresh without any need for AC, which I liked. It’s a good place to stay in Antigua Guatemala, with cozy rooms and staff who are helpful whenever you need them. The price wasn’t expensive.

The space is gorgeous, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was a sweet little addition. The staff were wonderful, kind, and incredibly helpful. I’m looking forward to staying here again next time I’m in Antigua.

I stayed here recently with my family, and there were several problems. We were billed for two family members who weren’t there, because we had included them when calling to reserve. We were also charged for bottled water that had never been put in our rooms, even after we told them there were no bottles. Room #4 had no running water, so we couldn’t use the bathroom or shower. We weren’t warned, and they didn’t give us a discount. When we arrived, we heard the previous guest in room 4 say the water was out, but thought it had been fixed. One room meant to hold about nine people had no bathroom or TV. Breakfast was only a couple pieces of fruit and coffee, and the dollar exchange rate was very low.

The rooms were really nice, and the staff made us feel welcome. A great hotel.
