Mestizo Antigua

Kelyn was especially thoughtful, helping with reservations and answering all my questions throughout the stay. From start to finish, the staff made me feel cared for. I booked the massage and dinner package: the massage was incredibly relaxing, and the five-course meal was delicious. The rooms were cozy and very comfortable, and the stylish hotel is well maintained and inviting. It's close to great restaurants, shops, and everything you might need. Amazing stay, I'd absolutely come back and highly recommend it.

The hotel is in a great spot, quiet but easy to walk around from, and the rooftop terrace is fun. I loved the delicious breakfast and the welcome drink. Highly recommend, I'd definitely stay again!

We had a deeply disappointing stay at Mestizo Antigua. It looks charming, but kept promising more than it delivered. The room was cramped, the full-size beds uncomfortable, the iron we requested didn't work, and the shower took five minutes to get hot. The booking caused the biggest problems. My travel agency reserved it with payment due on arrival, but two weeks before the trip the hotel demanded full payment upfront and threatened to cancel. In my years as a travel agent, I'd never had a hotel do this. We protested but had to pay, and then the hotel cancelled anyway, costing me my commission. Despite several requests, they wouldn't restore the original booking. They offered a complimentary bottle of champagne to make up for the mistake, then tried to charge us at checkout. We had to show the WhatsApp messages to prove it was meant as a goodwill gesture. Service also fell short on transportation: we waited in the lobby more than 30 minutes for an excursion ride with no update, and they didn't arrange our return trip, so we had to find our own way back. We also booked dinner, a wine cellar visit, and a massage. Dinner was rushed because of a private event, we got the massage, but the wine cellar experience was never scheduled or mentioned again. The lack of accountability, missing services, and financial hit from the mishandled booking made this one of the worst managed hotel stays I've had. I won't stay at Mestizo Antigua again or recommend it, especially to people booking through travel professionals.

Kelyn was really helpful with restaurant suggestions, and the staff were friendly. The rooms are nice, the beds comfortable, and the rooftop space is great. A great place to stay.
