That terrace with its plants and tables was the only thing we liked. The stay wasn't worth the price. When we arrived, they handed us a key without showing us the room or where the bathrooms were, so we had to work that out ourselves. The room felt claustrophobic, with no fan and no proper window that opened. The only window was hard to open and looked onto the living area. We were given just a mattress cover and a very old, unattractive blanket, so we had to ask for a sheet. The toilets barely flushed, and the shower water came out of a cut pipe.

Mishel and Jimmy are excellent hosts. They always make guests feel welcome and help with whatever they need. It's a comfortable place at a great price if you're traveling on a budget, with a relaxed atmosphere where you can take a breather while traveling around Guatemala. They're keen to learn more foreign languages, so practice with them, and they'll help you improve your Spanish too. Enjoy!

We booked two nights the week before and had everything confirmed, but they canceled the day before we were due to arrive because a group of Guatemalans unexpectedly stayed. It was la semana santa, when alternatives were more expensive and hard to find at the last minute. What's the point of making a reservation if the bed just gets given to someone else?

The common area is nice, smoking is allowed, and there’s a fully equipped kitchen with what you need. Prices are pretty good, and everything is close by. Jimmy makes you feel right at home, fellas!

I came planning to stay one night, but ended up extending my stay because I loved the hostel. The owner is really friendly and gave me all the information I needed 😊. There's a cute, cuddly little cat for cat lovers 😍. The location in Coban is handy, with everything closer by, and there’s a nice rooftop, kitchen, and filtered water. It's also easy to get to Lanquin if you're going to Semuc Champey. Highly recommended!
