The rooftop terrace was a highlight, with the ocean on one side and 6 volcanoes on the other. Swell is also just a 2 minute walk from the beach, which made getting there easy. Inside, the rooms and property looked beautiful but still felt practical and homey. Everything seemed to have a purpose, so there wasn't clutter. The staff were warm and ready to help with whatever we needed, always with a smile. We loved the food, too. It was comforting but made with healthy, whole ingredients, and the portions felt just right. My favourites were the smoothie bowl at breakfast and the locally caught fish tacos at dinner. Swell made our whole time in El Paredon, and we'd stay here again if we return.

I loved the rooftop hammocks and the ocean view. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was great to book surfing lessons right through the hotel. For beginners, I found the surfing better than in Bali. The room opened onto the pool and had a nice view. There wasn't hot water, and the WiFi kept cutting out. Even though I usually love a boiling hot shower, this shower temperature was bearable. I chose to keep the pool view instead of switching to a room with hot water. The beach was only a 3min walk away. Probably one of the nicest hotels in town. Recommend!

At the end of our 3 week backpacking trip, we treated ourselves to Swell. It stretched our budget a bit, but the swim up suite was gorgeous, the food and drinks at the restaurant and bar were really good, and everyone on staff was super friendly and helpful. We couldn't fault anything and I'd happily come back.

Our room opened straight onto one of the two pools, just what I needed. We also loved the rooftop view at sunrise and sunset, and the food was great. The staff were so lovely. We had an exceptional stay.

2025 was a rough year for many of us, and our escape to El Paredon was a very intentional chance to refuel, recharge, and mentally check out. We didn't expect Swell Surf Club to feel so magnetic, or for the stay to be so unforgettable and relaxing. The place has a real sense of community. The owners inspired us, the amazing staff adopted us, and the extended team welcomed us with so much warmth. They seemed to truly enjoy their work, and that energy and hospitality made a difference to our experience. A local chef's delicious food and juice menu became our go to every morning. The landscape and spaces are beautifully designed, and we even named the walk to the pool “Mariposa Lane.” Muchisimas Gracias for such a special stay. May future guests love on the land the way you have.
