Citadin Hotel

We found this hotel at the last minute while visiting from the USA, and my husband and I were really pleased with our stay. Everything was close enough to walk to, and there are restaurants both on the rooftop and downstairs. Glenda, the cleaning lady, was such a wonderful, hardworking woman. She never touched any of my valuables.

The room was clean, spacious, and nice, but being on the exterior side of the second floor meant we heard road traffic, loud trucks below, planes overhead, and people in the next room. It was so noisy that sleeping was impossible. If you can, ask for an interior room with no one booked next door. The ladies at reception were very friendly, and the restaurant downstairs was great. The shared bathrooms had good hot water, plus soap and shampoo, though the floors got slippery when wet and could use a bath mat or tread. There was a microwave, but no kitchen facilities, breakfast, coffee, or water. Booking through the app gets you a discounted price.

Sharing the balcony with other rooms was fine except that everyone could see straight into my room, so there was no privacy. As a solo woman traveler, I can't imagine feeling comfortable here. The in-person price was more than 25% above the online price, and I believe they added a surcharge of 6% or more for paying by credit card. I was hugely disappointed. If it hadn't been so late at night, I would have left right away.

They said I could "shower across the street" after I ran out of water in the room during the busy morning hours. I was rushing to a meeting, and they offered no compensation at all. I had to insist before they suggested that. The rooms were pretty average and had a funky smell. They advertise a bunch of rooms, but apparently only the most expensive ones are actually available. Very disappointing. There are plenty of other hotels nearby with better service, so don't waste your time.
