Hotel Metropolitano

At 7 a.m., a woman talked on her phone in the hallway for a long time. The cleaning staff nearby didn't ask her to keep it down for guests who might still be asleep. I wasn't trying to sleep then, but hearing it go on was still annoying. The soundproofing is poor too, I could clearly hear the woman in the next room talking. If that would bother you, find another place.

There's everything you need in the room, and you can park your motorbike inside as well.

The location worked well, within walking distance of the bus stations. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom and shower, so I can't speak to the regular hotel rooms. It was a secure, basic Guatemalan hotel, with no extras to expect. The owner was friendly and polite. Most guests were Guatemalan, and I was happy with the stay because the rate was low compared with other hotels.

There was no elevator, so I had to carry two suitcases up three floors without any help. The shower was dirty and in terrible shape, water pressure was very low, and little roaches were wandering around the hotel. The room was tiny, I could barely fit and couldn't sit on the toilet without my legs pressed against the wall. Management was sleazy and put me in the smallest, worst room I've ever seen, even though my Expedia reservation clearly showed I'd paid for a DOUBLE ROOM. The worst hotel experience I've ever had.
