Meraki Boutique Hotel

Breakfast is great, and the hotel is in a safe area near shops and a great beer place, not far from the airport. The rooms are comfortable, but one of the rooms we had on our two stays was humid and musty. On our second visit, we got an upgrade and a much better room. Weekdays are fine, but on weekends the hotel is in an extremely noisy nightclub area, so I wouldn’t recommend staying then.

It’s a cute boutique hotel with small but well-equipped rooms, and the price is great. Two shopping malls and good restaurants are an easy walk away. The staff were pleasant, and I liked the free breakfast. The beds are comfortable, the water is hot, and the wifi is good. It can get very loud at night, though.

The hotel is in a nice spot in Zona 10, and it felt very safe walking around during the day. Restaurants and a mall are close, and breakfast was fine and came quickly. The service was the hard part. Every staff member I dealt with was downright rude. I’m 25 and have worked in service since I was 15, so I understand being tired at the end of a shift. Even at 15, though, I knew how to hide unpleasant feelings and apologize when I was wrong. Valerie at reception was unkind from the start. She gave us a room with one double bed instead of two, and didn’t apologize until she could tell we were unhappy. She said all the other rooms were full, and only offered a refund for the smaller room after we asked. I’d have been fine with the refund and double bed if anyone had been kind about it. The room also smelled of mold. It was 8PM, and we didn’t want to look for another hotel and take an uber, so we decided to cut our losses. Meraki needs to fix its booking system and help staff handle guests better. I’d avoid this place.
