Rio Lodge

The location in Zona 4 was a real plus, with great bars and restaurants nearby and just a 4 min walk to the stadium. I was in town for two days to see a Selección match at Doroteo Guamuch Flores, and being able to take in the atmosphere before and after the game was great. It’s a no frills place, but fantastic for the price. The dorm beds were a bit stiff, though the blackout curtains were some of the best I’ve found in a hostel, and the lights and plugs were a big plus. Staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. I’ll stay again.

The shared spaces and bathroom were nice, and the beds were comfortable. They provide a towel and soap/shampoo. I had a good time at Rio hostel, especially when Sasha and Theo were around.

The breakfast was nice, and there are lots of bars and cafes close by. You can walk to zonas 1 and 10, and Transmetro stops are nearby. The dorms were comfortable, with blackout curtains, lights, and plug sockets, plus pleasant social areas. Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed in in Guatemala!

The front desk staff were really nice, and Zone 4 is a good spot, with several restaurants and bars nearby. You can hear noise from the neighboring bars, but ear plugs take care of it, and the desk has some if you forgot yours. You do have to ring the buzzer to be let in and out through the hostel gate, which can get annoying.
