The owner, David, is a young guy who speaks English very well and is keen to help guests. The location worked well for us, just near the main street with its restaurants and bars. We spent two nights here during our two days in Pana. The rooms are low budget, with a choice of shared or private bathrooms. There’s an upstairs terrace that’s a nice spot for a beer or cigarette, although the wifi is weak up there. David was working on adding more rooms, a kitchen, and an upstairs bar soon.

David was friendly and really helpful. He speaks English and Spanish well, arranged a shuttle for me to Antigua, and waited when I arrived late for check-in. I’d stay here again.

After a long day of travel, David gave me such a warm welcome, from the shuttle to getting settled in for the night. He helped with my belongings and showed me and my shuttle companions to a clean room with a really comfortable bed. I didn't get room photos, but took a selfie with David on the way out. My friends were heading to another spot on the lake, so as we said goodbye I invited him to breakfast. I hadn't expected to be introduced to the tasty traditional “atol de masa”. David, the owner, is good people. He speaks very good English if, like me, your Spanish isn't great yet, and goes out of his way to answer questions about what to do and where to go in the area. I highly suggest staying at D’Reyes!
