Hotel Dos Mundos

I felt very safe here, and despite seeing families with children, the place was quiet. I’d arrived in Panajachel after a horrible stay elsewhere that felt unsafe, then luckily walked past Dos Mundos. I don’t remember the woman’s name at the front desk, but she was warm and welcoming, and they had a room available. I liked the restaurant and the included breakfast. It’s convenient for shops, water taxis, and other attractions. Highly recommend.

You’re right off the main street with all the artisan shops, yet it feels tucked away enough to have some privacy. Parking is free for your stay. It’s about a 10 minute drive to Cables Extremos, and the main dock area, where you can reserve a boat to the other cities around the lake, is a five minute walk away. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the restaurant food is yum. There’s no AC, which is fine at night, though the rooms get a little stuffy during the day. Great choice if you want to be in the heart of the city. I’d definitely come back.

Loved this place. The grounds are stunning, and the central location was great. My room was large and clean.

The staff were friendly and polite, and the hot shower worked well. We spent two nights here and had peaceful, quiet nights, even though it’s just off Main Street and only a one-minute walk from lots of places to eat. The breakfast options weren’t great, just eggs and beans or toast with a small fruit salad. The pool looked great, though I didn’t use it.
