Hotel Tzanjuyu Bay

The lake views and the huge, striking garden were the best parts for me. It’s an old hotel, but that adds to its charm. Famous Santander street is an easy walk away, and the pier, where taxi boats can take you around the lake, is less than 400 m away.

The gardens are beautifully kept and create a peaceful setting, and the view is breathtaking. It’s close to downtown, yet still feels tranquil, so it’s a good spot if you want to disconnect. Just don’t count on the WiFi signal. I almost hesitate to tell people about it, but the place deserves the recognition.

The rooms were musty, the TVs were old and mounted way up on the wall, and the pool had a slight green tint. A dead boat carcass also spoils the view. It’s a great property, but sadly not well maintained, and the high room prices aren’t justified when there are better kept options at similar prices. We had to fight to cancel the reservation and get our money back.

The room was clean and had a nice view, but the place was way too expensive for what it offered. There were no chairs outside, no dock or way to get into the lake, and no hammocks to relax in. WiFi didn’t reach the room, and the signal at the front office was unstable. They didn’t even have milk for the morning coffee. We’d hoped for a treat at a nice lakefront hotel. It feels like they don’t want customers and still expect guests from the 1920s.
