Does anyone know whether this place is open as of 15/7/25?

Super.

The restaurant was the standout for me: around five starters and seven main dishes for lunch and dinner, combining local Guatemalan seafood with the owner's French cooking style. There’s a pool, and the beach is just 20 meters away. The water is warm, between 27 and 35 degrees Celsius, lovely for a swim. Set on a small island between the river and the sea, the hotel is reached by boat from the little port at Las Lisas. You can rent one there, or contact the hotel and they’ll recommend Giovani, a local who greeted us with real warmth and hospitality. The trip passes mangroves, the point where the river meets the sea, and plenty of birdlife. The hotel holds 25 people, so the service was excellent. Frederic, the owner, welcomed us and showed us around and to our room. We also met the hotel’s little guardian, Pitou, a very affectionate Chihuahua. Everyone who looked after us was excellent and always greeted us with a smile. It’s a place to leave your worries behind and reconnect with nature and yourself.

The place had plenty of potential, but it was so neglected that it was embarrassing. During my stay from December 26th to 28th, 2018, the pool was green and dirty. It wasn't properly cleaned until our last day, because, as they put it, "a group was arriving." We couldn't use it, and they offered no discount or compensation. The food wasn't the best either. We'd stayed there two years earlier. They said the owner was sick and away, but since we spoke directly with the owner, they should have been honest about the conditions or not taken our reservation. Disappointing.
