The room had everything I needed, including hot water, a comfortable bed and a hammock. Nothing fancy, but I loved hearing birds instead of tuk tuks. The kitchen was fine, though not ideal if you enjoy cooking. Still, San Pedro has so many good places to eat.

The staff were so lovely, and the piña colada was great. We first came for dinner because our hotel recommended it, and the lasagne was delicious enough that we returned the next night for the same meal.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, and for the price there was a decent kitchen. It’s also well placed for walking around, with some amazing restaurants nearby. Our room, though, had a toilet leaking all over the bathroom and a torn hammock, so the outdoor seating wasn’t much use. Maybe we just got the worst room. The online rate I’d reserved wasn’t honored, and the free breakfast advertised wasn’t included either. There was also a lot of nearby construction noise during the day, which made it hard to relax. I left disappointed with the place overall. I stayed a few days and had drinks at the restaurant, but the service there was pretty bad. My cocktail tasted like juice with no alcohol, and the other drink had wood chips in it. We told the waitress, but were still charged for everything. It upset us, and we didn’t go back to the restaurant for the rest of our stay.

We had a team of 23 at Hotel Pinocchio for a week and had a wonderful time. It’s set back from the main drive, so nights were really quiet. The rooms were very clean, the food was excellent, and the staff were kind and helpful. There are hammocks for relaxing and a pool to cool off in.
