Le Prabelle Hotel

The service was quite nice, and the location is the big plus: Prince Edward MTR is about a two-minute walk away. But the rooms were small for the price, and there were several issues inside. The air conditioning was noisy, the soundproofing was awful, and we could hear people in the corridor and upstairs. Shower pressure was weak, and the water would suddenly get very hot. The walls were pretty dirty too. For me, the hotel was just okay overall.

I got good value for what I paid. The room was very clean, the staff were friendly, and the shower had hot water with strong pressure. The A21 stop for the direct airport bus is only a minute away. The front desk asked if I wanted to borrow an adapter, too. If I’d known they had one, I wouldn’t have brought mine.

The service was good, and Prince Edward MTR is nearby. There’s free WiFi, a mini fridge and bottled water, and the room itself was neat. There aren’t any cupboards, though, so you’ll be living out of your suitcase. Check-in isn’t until 3 pm; you can leave your luggage early and walk around Nathan road while you wait. They also charge a 1000 hk security deposit.

The soundproofing was bad enough to wake me early, since my room was near the elevator bank and people were stomping past to check out. With only four rooms on what seemed like a very short hallway, being near the elevators doesn’t seem unusual. Maybe I was unlucky, as I only stayed one night, but this isn’t a place for late sleepers. Sleep matters too much for me to overlook it, so I’d rate the hotel 3/5. Otherwise, things were solid: the room looked surprisingly clean and nice, if a little old, and there’s a grand view. The location is convenient for the MTR and an airport bus, and they have handy extras like loaner travel adapters and a luggage scale in the lobby. Without the noise issue, I might have given it four or even five stars.
