At around HKD460 a night, I expected better value since you can find a nicer room in HK for that price. The room felt cramped, with hardly enough space for large luggage, and the facilities were very basic. Getting to the MTR isn't especially convenient either, as it's between Shum Shui Po and Prince Edward.

The room was clean, including the toilet, and comfortable for two. We had two beds instead of one double, which made sleeping easy. It seemed a little smaller than the online pictures, but for what we paid it met our expectations and even did a bit better. There are shops on the walk from Prince Edward MTR exit C, about 10 minutes away, and some great dim sum near the station. McDonald's is across the road, while a Circle K and supermarket are about two minutes from the hotel. The walls are thin, though, so loud conversations from next door sometimes carried through.

Finding a decent room at a fair price in Hongkong is tough. Good rooms are usually at least U$ 200, so I was surprised by how clean this one at VP was, with soft cotton sheets. The shower was right next to the toilet, only about two feet away, so sometimes you end up showering over the toilet. If you just need somewhere to sleep, this place works.

We were happy with the stay and would recommend the hotel to friends visiting HK. The concierge was helpful, and we could leave our luggage after checking out at noon. Housekeeping usually had the room neat and clean when we got back, though they didn't always replace the bedding. Even with a room beside the lift, there was very little noise. The room was spacious by Hong Kong standards and looked clean. There's a supermarket, Wellcome, and MacDonalds across the street, with plenty of affordable food around. Prince Edward and Sham Shui Po stations are a fairly short walk, and Mongkok is walkable too. The drawbacks were the limited TV channels and just one extra power socket besides the one used by the TV.
