The owner was lovely, spoke very good English, and helped us catch the early ferry after we missed the last one to Utila. Our room was simple, clean, and quiet, even though it faced the road, and the night wasn’t especially noisy. We also thought the pizza, dinner, and drinks were fine. We’d stay again.

Don Carlos and his wife made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived at 314 Eco Boutique Hotel. He picked us up at the airport and took us back, too. There’s a rooftop pizzeria, and the vegetarian options were the best part for me. Definitely coming back 🤗

I chose the $27 room without AC by mistake. The photos show an AC unit, so I can see how I overlooked the detail, and that part was on me. But when I asked to switch to the advertised $37 room with AC, the receptionist said it would cost another $30, more than double the original room’s price. I went a few blocks to Hotel Italia instead and got a much nicer room with AC, a double bed, and an easy check-in for $24. Hotel 314 will try to get extra money from you, especially if you’re a foreigner in Honduras. I highly recommend Hotel Italia for budget travelers.

I’m not one to accept being scammed, so I’ll just say I will NEVER go back there.
