The second room was even dirtier than the first, and the breakfast was just one cup of coffee and a pitiful pancake. We eventually had to switch rooms to get a key, and there was no key for us the next morning either. At check-in, we could enter the room but had no way to lock it. We arrived in the evening and wanted to go out for dinner, but couldn’t leave the door unlocked. The two reception guys didn’t seem concerned. One tried to find a key with no luck, then disappeared, and the other said none of the rooms had keys. We waited two hours, got nowhere, and went to bed without dinner or a key. These guys really don’t seem to care how the hostel is run. I can’t recommend this place, not even for one night. Stay away and find somewhere else! P.S. Roland, I hope you’re more satisfied with your job in Guatemala!

Ronald was so thoughtful and welcoming. Before I headed to Roatan, I spent one night in the dorm, and he quickly set mosquito coils around me since there were lots of seasonal mosquitoes. The place was great.

I paid, but left after about 20 minutes because I couldn't stand staying there. The beds were stained, the sheets old, and there were lots of bugs. I was also worried the dog might bite me. Not cool at all.

We'd already paid for a booking, but at check-in the owner tried to make us pay twice the agreed amount. When we wouldn't, he threw us out and kept our money. It didn't feel safe. Please don't stay here, this is a scam.

The area felt safe, with other hotels, restaurants and popular bars nearby, and the beach was about a 10-minute walk from the town center. My room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was a generous Honduran spread in a lush garden. The staff were friendly and helpful, sharing lots of information, and they even met me at the bus station on time.
