Back for a second stay and I still love it. It's tucked away from the main path, so it's quieter and there are fewer people. The beach isn't much, but the snorkeling is wonderful. Rooms are basic, which is all you need in paradise. The people running the place are super nice, and there's always fresh water for guests.

Maty and René were fantastic hosts, helping us with everything from getting around to suggestions for places to visit. We spent two weeks at Half Moon Resort, staying in a lovely wooden cabin facing the ocean and surrounded by trees. It had a mellow, refreshing feel. There's a private beach for relaxing by the water, and the snorkeling right in front of the hotel was unforgettable. We saw incredible marine life and coral reefs. A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy Roatán's natural beauty. Highly recommended! A+++

This was my third stay at Half Moon Resort, and I spent a week there recently. It's close to the main road but far enough away to stay quiet and relaxing. I loved the private beach and the great snorkeling just offshore. Rene, the owner, was also very kind and helped arrange the COVID tests my family needed for our return to Canada. Some things changed during the pandemic: the on-site dive shop, EcoDivers, has closed, though several excellent dive shops are still open nearby. The restaurant has also shut, so there's no morning coffee anymore and you have to go into town for meals. Those are fairly minor details given how much I enjoyed my stay. I'll be back!

Our tour guide found us a quiet little spot away from the tourist trap strip, just as we'd asked, and it turned out to be a great choice. This waterfront place had a lovely atmosphere and reasonable prices. My husband and I ordered the kabobs, which were excellent, the kids had grilled fish, and our friends ordered another fish dish. Everyone loved their food. It took a while to come, but was well worth the wait. We were the only people there, and it was so peaceful.

Curtis, a local guide, brought us here from our cruise ship day trip as his pick for quiet snorkeling and good food. It delivered: rustic, charming, peaceful, and with great food served outside on a waterfront deck. The beachfront snorkeling was the best we've had. We made great memories with my family, and I'd love to spend a week or two in one of the cottages.
