Miramar Suites

The view is stunning, and the place has a gorgeous, clean feel with lots of white decor. I loved the coffee and food. The owner showed me the work underway on what I'd call a presidential suite and a junior suite, and both are beautiful. We'll definitely stay here when we return to West End.

Miramar is right across from the beach, and the view from the Penthouse suite was incredible. The location couldn't be better. Our room had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our time in West End. All the employees were welcoming and accommodating. I'll stay here again.

The hot shower was one saving grace, though the cubicle itself was in poor condition. The other was that the AC worked. Everything else made for three miserable nights. Our room was above the bar, with a balcony overlooking the street and facing the beach. The room was dirty, with scuffed, grimy walls and woodwork. The central light didn't work, the bathroom towel rail was broken, and the shower curtain rail fell off at a touch. No one cleaned during our stay: the bathroom bin filled with used toilet tissue, the beds weren't made, and the shower and sink weren't cleaned. There was just one small wooden rack for clothes, so our bags stayed piled around the beds. Noise was awful from the bar below and from drinkers on the beach opposite, who stayed late. One morning a man was asleep sprawled across the hotel entrance steps, presumably sleeping off the previous night's drinking. The final night was the worst, with some kind of party below, shouting and music into the early hours. The bar also seems to attract regular drinkers and hangers on. If you have to stay here, choose a room as far from the front as possible.

The food was good and the beach is right across the street, but it was the staff going above and beyond to look after guests that made me grateful for this place. My time in Roatan wouldn't have been half as enjoyable without it.
