The SeaGrape staff went way beyond what was expected when I got sick. I’d picked up a parasite earlier in the trip, and the clinic in West Emd was stellar. The staff made calls and tracked down one of my prescriptions until they got it delivered, so we didn’t have to take a cab to Coxen Hole for it. They were a huge help. The location is lovely, near the quiet end of the West End strip, with beautiful grounds and a beautiful pool. The morning breakfast area is lovely, too, and the staff throughout were GREAT.

The diving was good, the people were kind and welcoming, and the rooms were cleaned every day. We stayed in the Casitas during the off season. It would have been perfect if not for a hurricane. The rooms are basic and have no TV, which was fine with us. Just be ready to put toilet paper in the trash can. We booked the 10 dive package through the PADI shop, where nitrox was banked at 32. Rough surf meant we had to drive to the opposite side of the island, which gave us a good look at the local area. The dive shop handles everything, though you should check that your tanks are on and your gear is ready. The staff were wonderful, even the security guard was kind and pleasant. The food was home cooking, and Judith, the hostess and waitress, was great. I’d describe the place as the Rainforest Cafe. Other meals cost extra, but what was included was really good. Show “Lazy” the cat some love! It’s about an eight-minute walk to bars, restaurants, and shops. This is a quiet, natural, more affordable option, so don’t expect American luxury.

The service was great, and everyone was helpful and friendly. I stayed in a lovely bungalow with a beautiful ocean and sunset view. There’s a big area to walk around, and the pool is really nice, even compared with super-luxury resorts. It’s a calm place, and for value and location, it was the best of the many places I’ve stayed. Its environmental footprint is one reason I rate it so highly. I changed places because I didn’t like wearing a plastic band around my wrist, like at an amusement park. I don’t want to show everyone around Roatan that I’m a tourist or where I’m staying. I understand it’s for security, so guards can easily see that you’re a guest. If you don’t mind the wristband, this is one of the best places on Roatan for me.

The place was super peaceful, with amazing views and a nice pool right in front of the ocean. Our room was fairly small and outdated, though. I’d suggest booking one of the bungalows.

The receptionist and dive master were both friendly and helpful. The boat was great too, with a big bucket for cameras, towels, and drinking water, something I didn’t see on the other nearby boats. You get into the water by stepping off the boat rather than doing a back drop. The dive master sorted me out with 100cc tanks with a smile. I’d go diving with them again. I’m posting this here because I couldn’t find the dive shop on Google.
