The place was beautiful, and we felt safe enough to walk around the neighborhood at night, look around, and find soccer fields and somewhere to eat. Our family group had a large, clean, lovely family room, which is unusual to find. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, treated us like royalty, and took care of transportation for the whole family. They even helped me find a place that could deliver dinner on our second night. We ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel, and the food was great. It's a high-quality place with a homey feel. It can be hard to find if you don't know where you're going, but our taxi driver knew exactly where it was. We loved every second.

Oscar at the front desk was friendly and hospitable, and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. The hotel was nice and comfortable, but finding it was very difficult because there was no sign for Hotel Real Gunacaste. Even when the GPS said we'd arrived, we couldn't see it.

The hotel is in a residential neighborhood near shops and restaurants. Parking is limited, and there’s an elevator. Breakfast is made to order on the top floor. My room had AC, an iron, a fridge, a hair dryer, and coffee-making facilities, though no tea. The place felt clean and homey, and the staff were always helpful. There aren't any signs outside. The building is painted blue, so if you have a reservation, drive up to the second blue sliding door and ring the bell or honk. There are security cameras.

The staff were the nicest, and the terrace has a beautiful mountain view. The rooms were peaceful and quiet, and the location was excellent, close to everything. I'd definitely stay again!

Good service and a quiet, affordable place to stay in a minimalist setting. It lets you save money and skip the crowds. Don't expect a fancy bar or restaurant, but everything else was perfect.
