Hotel Elvir

Affordable and well located near the central park and a park that's good for kids. Works well for a family stay or a work trip.

This had been one of my favorite hotels since I was a child, which makes this especially disappointing. I didn't get a refund after cancelling, even though Expedia's team tried to reach the hotel. I lost my money. It's unfortunate that this kind of thing is common in our country. I won't recommend the place to friends traveling to Honduras anymore.

The helpful staff stood out most, and the hotel also has a pool and restaurant. I found it a decent mid-range option, with quaint rooms and beds that aren't especially comfortable, though they aren't unusable. It's an old-style place that's kept up well, with great service and a convenient, secure private parking lot. Prices seem a little high for Honduras and for what's provided, but fair.

Good food, and being locked in at night made the place feel safe. It's on the outskirts of the major city. My room was fairly clean, though I found trash left by a previous guest. There was a leak in my ceiling, and they didn't offer to move me.
