Park Place Hotel

During our three weeks at Park Place Hotel, from July 5th to 26th, the owners made a personal visit to greet us and check that we were comfortable. I've done volunteer assignments around 20 times in Africa, South America, and Asia, and traveled widely with my wife, but we'd never had this kind of personal attention from a hotel owner before. I came from British Columbia, Canada, to volunteer in Siguatepeque, Honduras, and that welcome really surprised us. The staff were all super-friendly, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. I'm vegan by choice, and my wife had several dietary restrictions for health reasons. They put together a special menu with plenty of choices and also moved us to a different room we preferred. We don't speak Spanish, and some staff weren't very fluent in English, but Google Translate worked fine and language never got in the way of a great stay. We had to leave very early on our last day to catch a flight from San Pedro Sula. The hotel arranged packed breakfasts for both of us and our driver. That was an incredible effort to make guests happy. Thanks to everyone in the hotel, restaurant, kitchen, cleaning, and maintenance teams for taking such good care of us. We miss you all and highly recommend Park Place Hotel. Wishing the whole team continued success!

The neighborhood looked bad and dirty, and there wasn't a beautiful park. They spent money making the inside look nice, but didn't do the pipes properly. The room smelled like sewer, coming up through the floor drains. The shower was moldy and the sink wasn't clean. Breakfast was cooked in old grease and turned my stomach, and it wasn't even the breakfast I'd ordered.

Friendly staff, good service, and simple but decent rooms.

The rooms are lovely and, above all, really clean. There's also a small but very nice rooftop pool, a huge window in the room, and breakfast included or a movie at the plaza across the street. If you're in Siguatepeque, this is the place to stay.
