Indura Beach & Golf Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton

We had a day pass at a good price, and it was worth it. The private beach was clean, and the service was great. The food could be better, especially if it weren’t so Americanized. Las alitas, papas fritas, tacos. Nice concept, but the flavor wasn’t there. Honduras is all about flavor and seasoning. And don’t forget bug spray.

The beach itself was beautiful, though I had to keep an eye out for branches and rubbish, and a walk along it led me to a cemetery that seemed open to anyone passing through. That left me uneasy about safety. I came for a week to unwind, but the poor upkeep and service made me unlikely to return. Getting there was rough, with a road full of potholes. Mosquitoes bothered me all week, so I bought a small repellent bottle in Tela to carry around. I also had to buy water since the bar only sold little bottles. The room's kitchen wasn't clean either: the fridge was dirty, the freezer rusty, and the dishes and cutlery needed washing and drying before I could use them. Meals by the beach were frustrating. The waiters were rude and arrogant when something on the menu wasn't available, one nearly shouted at me, and they took the menu away abruptly after I ordered. I waited 15 minutes for the check. If I spent under $25 on food, it seemed the waiter paid little attention and tried to ignore me. Dinner at either the beach restaurant or the other restaurant's terrace meant more mosquito bites, and I just wanted to leave. I booked a full-body massage at the spa on Wednesday or Thursday for about $100. The masseuse pulled my hair twice during it, and I still don't understand why. The place generally felt dirty, from leaves on the reception chairs to furniture that looked like it hadn't been cleaned.

The staff made us feel welcome from the front desk through housekeeping and the restaurants. Everyone was warm, professional, and keen to help, which made the stay feel special. We were also struck by how clean and well kept the whole property was, including our room, the pool, and dining areas. Meals were a highlight, with fresh ingredients, lots of choices, and flavors put together with real care. Indura Beach & Golf Resort went beyond what we expected, and we're eager to come back. A great choice if you're after luxury, relaxation, and attentive service.

It's pricey, but nothing around here comes close. I can't put into words how incredible the place is.
