You can hear the sea at night, almost as if it’s climbing the mountains, and in daylight those mountains look like beautiful divers. The apartment has an amazing view. It’s spacious, really clean, modern, and tastefully done, with everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. Adela was a wonderful, attentive host who was around to help. A perfect holiday.

The beaches were fabulous, and shops and an ATM were easy to get to. It’s a lovely, tidy, well-kept place, with a welcoming host and a pet-friendly setup.

From the top floor, we had a beautiful view over the bay between the mainland and Ciovo Island. The attic apartment felt homely, with two bedrooms, a clean, well-kept bathroom, and a kitchen that had everything, though the equipment was modest. Adela was friendly and attentive. She complimented us on being quiet during our stay, though she could have mentioned from the start that quiet mattered to her. The drive up is startling the first few times, but you get used to it. Adela’s apartment is on the second level of the road, with the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth levels above it. From the water’s edge, we counted it as about the seventh floor. Ciovo looks like a balloon from a distance, with houses perched on a steep hill. The view from up there is magnificent. The swimming pool is about 300 meters down the hill. There’s a shop by the Tommy swimming pool, but food isn’t cheap. Croatians seem to do that in season, even paying too much themselves rather than having their own secret cheap shop.
