Aminess Alfir Hotel

We spent a week here with our two kids and all of us had a great time. It's a new hotel that has just opened, so there are a few minor imperfections, but nothing that spoiled the holiday. The staff were really friendly, and we could see things improving each day, especially the food and service. All the facilities are working now, including the pools with a bar and the saunas. We'd definitely come back.

Alfir stood out most for me among the many hotels I've stayed at in Croatia. The restaurant deserves a Michelin star, and the staff were warm, helpful, and ready with advice. The rooms were in excellent condition, and the location was good, with the beach not far away. I had a comfortable, pleasant stay and will definitely return next season.

The women at the front desk were lovely, but I can't recommend this place for what we paid for the best suite. We checked out three days early. The sheets in my room were very dirty, with blood on them, and as an interior designer I thought the curtains were the worst fabric and workmanship I've ever seen. We had the two-bedroom suite on the top floor. There were no plugs in the lounge for boiling a jug, so we had to use the only socket in the bedroom. The phone in the room didn't work, and the TV channels weren't programmed. It took three days of asking to get that fixed. The main lift to our room was out for five hours one day, leaving my 91-year-old father to walk up to the fourth floor. Another lift stops between floors, so you have to climb stairs with your bags. There's no handrail on the stairs to the dining room, and the lift to the dining area doesn't work. There are no stairs into the pool either, so elderly guests can't swim. Breakfast was disappointing, and we gave up on it. The coffee machine wasn't working today, so we had to go upstairs to the bar to get a coffee made. There's no food or snacks to buy in the bar area, which is a joke when people are drinking.

We had a great view from the restaurant terrace, and the food was really tasty. The rooms were comfortable and cozy, and the young staff were always smiling and exceptionally friendly. It's a fully renovated hotel in an excellent location, and one I'd gladly recommend.
