Bretanide Sport & Wellness Resort

Bol and the island were amazing. The hotel, though, played German techno right outside our room every night until 11 pm. Nice. My wife and I booked it for a relaxing trip that we'd already paid for, but compared with all-inclusive stays in Mexico and Central America at a similar price, it doesn't come close. The food was like a standard all-you-can-eat buffet, with limited choices, and the drinks were even more restricted. Beyond draft beer and house red or white wine from the tap, a standard cocktail cost extra. Even a Coke from the minibar started at 4.5 euros. They call this place all-inclusive, but lots of small things cost extra, even a bathrobe or an additional pillow. Pool towels came with a flimsy paper card, and losing it meant a 20-euro charge. Most of the staff who served us were young adults with an 'I'd rather be anywhere else' attitude.

We stayed at this hotel for a family holiday for the second time. The rooms are a little small, but otherwise things were acceptable apart from two problems with other guests. The hotel management should address both. Every shared area had ashtrays and was a smoking spot. People even smoked during the guided mini disco for kids, which isn't acceptable. There was nowhere to get away from it, including the kids' pool, pool bar, other bar, sunbeds, or outdoor dinner tables. Guests also claimed all the sunbeds early each morning by leaving towels on them. I was told someone was supposed to collect towels from beds that weren't being used, but we never saw him do it. Management should deal with the smoking and towel reserving, or make clear that it's a smoking-friendly hotel where you have to fight for a sunbed.

The resort has a character of its own, with a great location, friendly and professional staff, and good food. We had plenty of sunshine and a wonderful stay at the Bretanide. We'll be back!

I wasn't staying at the hotel, but I had a gift certificate for the spa. I wouldn't recommend getting a gel manicure or pedicure there. My appointment was at 16:00 on 16.07. My interaction with the esthetician, Olega, was fine, but she needs a refresher on nail work. I told the receptionist Valerija on 18.07 that I wasn't happy with the service, but my complaint went nowhere. I'm posting here so nobody else has their nails ruined.
