Villa Azzurra

The beds were extremely hard, the air conditioning was weak, and the kids' bathroom had holes in the wall that made it feel unsafe. The kitchen lacked basics like a microwave and toaster, the dishwasher door was broken, and several things needed repairs. It felt under-equipped, as if guests were being pushed to eat out. Hot water was unreliable, and we were told our apartment was last in line for it, but things never improved. The Jacuzzi barely worked, with just 2 of its 8 jets functioning. The showers are also impractical if you're taller than 1.75m. The location was difficult with small children: it was a 10-minute walk to town and 2km to the beach. We had booked months ahead and were looking forward to Bol, but the photos on Booking.com gave a misleading impression. We were put in the first-floor apartment with no sea view because plants on the patio had overgrown. For the price, we expected a lot more. Bol is beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The breakfast was freshly made, generous, and amazing, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We had a spacious, comfortable apartment with good air conditioning and a decent terrace looking over the bay. There was gear for cooking in the apartment, though I barely used it with so many lovely restaurants around. Just be aware of the stairs and the steep 10-minute walk up from town and the marina. It probably isn't a good fit for anyone with mobility issues. I didn't mind the climb, it was nice exercise after eating so much at the restaurants! I'd definitely recommend it.

The team at Villa Azzurra in Bol handled an issue with the villa quickly when we arrived, and treated us wonderfully. We had a very nice stay.

Tomislava and the whole team made us feel welcome and were generous throughout our stay. We hope to visit again!
