Villa Daniela

At least the breakfast was enjoyable. We booked one double room at Daniela Hotel through Booking.com because the catalogue made the rooms look comfortable, but room 105 didn’t meet the standard we expected. It was too small, the bed was uncomfortable, the shower badly damaged, and the toilet fan extremely noisy. We asked reception to sort out the problems, but nobody addressed our complaints. We got snorts and suggestions that we cancel the reservation and move somewhere else.

The balcony had a spectacular view, and the room was spotless with a very comfortable bed. We arrived early, and they were able to check us in. After being out in the heat, it was lovely to walk into a cool room. The reception guys were welcoming, friendly and helpful, answered all our questions, and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Great location near the ferry port and the walking path to the beach. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked very clean. Excellent value for the price, and I’d happily stay again, especially for the warm staff.

The shower was missing pieces, some lights didn’t work, and the door lock kept sticking. The mattress felt like it cost about 30 euros, and I slept terribly every night, with my back hurting badly. The bathroom fan was so loud that we used our phone flashlight for nighttime toilet trips so we wouldn’t wake each other. We paid 115 euros a night for the economy room and regretted it as soon as we walked in. It was a rip-off and not worth even the low price. We tried to upgrade, but the hotel was fully booked.

We found this little hotel charming and good value for money. The owners are very friendly, and the pool area was nice and never crowded during our late June stay. The breakfast wasn’t huge in terms of variety, but had everything we needed. It’s within walking distance of Bol centre and the beaches. Our room was quiet apart from the bathroom ventilation, and had a big balcony.
