Hotel Dvorac Jurjevec

A quiet spot with lovely surroundings, and the staff were kind and attentive. We had dinner too. The food was tasty, though a little pricey, and the menu has plenty of well-known local Croatian and German dishes. I'd recommend it as a place to rest and adjust to a different time zone between long-haul flights. The airport is a 20-30 minute drive away.

The food was tasty, and it's a nice, clean place with good interior design. At dinner, though, the waiter brought us the wrong wine, already opened, then tried to persuade us it was an even better choice. One small wording point: I think “You can help the us improve” should be corrected by taking out “the”.

The restaurant is worth visiting for the food alone. The menus are superb, breakfast is amazing with a continental spread and extra touches, and they make their own fruit juice and marmalade. The host and owner were very friendly, and there's a great history to the Hotel and Site. It's set in lovely grounds near Lekenik in Croatia, peaceful and out of the way. The rooms are super, beautifully decorated and very clean. Some ensuite bathrooms have jacuzzi baths. There's an indoor pool and sauna, and an outdoor pool is being built. It's a fairly new hotel and an absolute gem. We will be back.

We stayed one night in late December 2021, and it was hard to choose a favorite from dinner. Everything was delicious, homemade and creative: beef stew soup, sous-vide chicken thighs with hazelnut sauce, hazelnut gnocchi, and dark chocolate lava cake. This area is known for hazelnut orchards, and the dishes came on luxurious dinnerware with very professional service. The renovated castle/mansion mixes modern and historical decor. You can tell the owners care about this heritage hotel and pay attention to details inside and out. Our room was modern and well equipped, with pillow choices and fast wi-fi. Jurjevec is secluded, with beautiful surroundings, and a lovely place to rest, eat and sleep well. I highly recommend it.
