The room was beautiful, but there were ants and centipedes throughout the rooms and bathrooms. Finding the hotel was difficult, though the owner or attendant met us on the Main Street to guide us. She made it clear that we should have found it easily and that our arrival was an inconvenience. We were also told overnight parking would cost around 30 Euros, but as my photo shows, we were charged 51 Euros for seventeen hours. At that price, it would have been cheaper to return the rental car and use Uber. I definitely don't recommend this hotel.
The hosts at Casa Antika Suits made us feel at home with warm, personal hospitality, thoughtful touches, and local tips. The views from the suite are stunning, with the Adriatic Sea, harbour, and green landscape all around. It's right in the heart of Cavtat, close to historic streets, cafés, artisan shops, the waterfront promenade, restaurants, and beaches. A peaceful place to stay, with modern comforts and plenty of charm, elegance, and comfort for exploring the town.
Cavtat is a beautiful place worth visiting, and Casa Antika Suites is a great base for Dubrovnik as well as a restful place to return to at the end of the day. The central location is still quiet. The building is new and tastefully decorated, and our apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Pack light, though, since the stairs can be a bit of a climb.
The hosts were lovely and very welcoming. They run the excellent restaurant downstairs too, and can help carry bags up the stairs if you need.
The rooms were cleaned well, and the cleaning woman was kind enough to smile and make eye contact with our kids. Those were about the only redeeming points. Casa Antika's location is nice, but the hospitality was some of the worst we've had in years. The owner and receptionist were impolite and unprofessional: they didn't reply to emails, gave bad directions, and check-in was awful. They couldn't manage basic courtesies like saying good morning or offering to help with bags. When our children were exhausted after climbing the stairs, they didn't even offer them a glass of water. The hotel is also under the flight path, and our kids woke to eight charter flights passing over our room from 7:30. Later, we saw the owner on the street and she ducked through a doorway to avoid us. It left us feeling we'd made a really poor choice. Cavtat is a nice town, but we'd suggest visitors stay somewhere else.
