The owners were really friendly, and the balcony view was beautiful. Inside, the apartment matched the photos, with a full kitchen, living room, bathroom, and a bedroom with two single beds. It was very clean. Beaches and the center take about a 10-minute walk, though the uphill walk back is a bit of a workout. The two large supermarkets are also around 10 minutes away, and there’s a small shop nearby. One small annoyance: the kitchen didn’t have basics like oil, vinegar, pasta, or rice, so for a short stay you have to buy more than you’ll use.

The uphill walk back from the center and beaches is tiring, especially if you’re carrying a lot, though they’re about 10 minutes away. The owner is lovely and speaks Italian well, and was happy to answer questions and offer help or local advice. We were three people, and found the apartment attractive, practical, well designed, and nicely equipped, with linens and air conditioning. Breakfast and dinner on the terrace were great with that spectacular view, which we’ll miss. In hot weather, though, lunch out there is tough since it gets full sun all day. My only real gripe was how much morning light came in from dawn. Blackout curtains would help.

We’d booked only the day before and sent the requested payment, then set off the next day. Check-in was meant to be from 2 pm, but the owner canceled on the reservation day, saying there was a problem with the water pipes. Our freshly washed clothes were left falling apart on the drying rack. If I could, I wouldn’t give even one star.
