The owner gave us a lovely welcome introduction to the island, with maps and ideas for what to see and where to go. From the apartment, it’s easy to head out to different beaches, and the nearby panoramic viewpoint is just a couple of steps away. The sunsets from there are the best on the island. The apartment sits right in the heart of the old town at Krk, a quiet, comfortable little place with a life of its own that doesn’t feel too touristy. Inside, it was fresh, clean and had everything we needed for cooking. About the church bell mentioned in earlier reviews, yes, it rings, but at a reasonable time to start the day rather than sleep through half of it.

The little restaurant on the main square is a nice spot to unwind with local wine and the sound of cicadas. The town is small but picturesque, with narrow streets and lovely views across the bay. It’s an atmospheric, charming place in the center of the island of Krk.
