Beach Hotel Plaza

The water in Drasnice is amazing, and the view is breathtaking. For those two things alone, I can see why people stay here, and I roughly enjoyed my visit. The service staff are really friendly, and the food was good, though not great. Still, the 3.9 average seems much too high to me. The facilities are old and look as if they’ve never been renovated; the place looks and feels unclean. Beds are uncomfortable, and the doors and balcony are hard to lock. I’d give the hotel two stars at most. If you have enough money, pick somewhere better. If your budget is lower and you can accept below-standard conditions, this could be an option. The restaurant has around 16 to 18 tables and only three people working. It took 10 minutes to place an order and about an hour to get the food. Yesterday nobody came to ask about drinks while we spent 15 minutes looking at the menu. That’s a crazy wait and unacceptable for a business like this. I mean this as feedback more than criticism.

The best parts were the view, the closeness to the beach, the surrounding nature, and the breakfast, which had a big selection. But I regret spending so much money here. It really wasn’t a three-star stay. We had to carry very heavy luggage up five flights of stairs, 70 steps in all, in heat above 30 degrees, and nobody helped. Dinner was average, with almost no vegetables beyond a few lettuce leaves in a bowl. Tea wasn’t included and had to be paid for. Water was limited too, and staff didn’t want people bringing in a bottle, even though it was July and up to 37°C. The nearest supermarket was a 15-minute walk each way, and there weren’t other supermarkets in this small village. The rooms weren’t cleaned properly. Floors were never swept, shelves weren’t dusted, the cleaning girl forgot to change the rubbish bin bag, and the bathroom foot towel wasn’t changed. The employees’ English was poor. I asked simple questions about tea, what was included, and whether they had a first-aid kit. Only one of three people understood and could answer. When I reported the wifi wasn’t working, they asked what I expected. I expected it to work, since I paid for it. From all this, management seems really shitty. I’m sorry, but it was a sad experience.

We spent a week here at the end of August, and the room was clean. The food was delicious, the view gorgeous, and the parking lot was literally across from the hotel. Whenever we had questions, we got answers as quickly and as well as possible. The whole hotel team was polite, pleasant, and very helpful. The main problem was the wifi, which couldn’t handle such a large number of rooms. Otherwise, I’d recommend the hotel.

The location is lovely, but the breakfast was really poor. Pets are supposedly welcome, yet they can't go to the beach or into the restaurant. Parking was awful too, only for many HP. For what you get, it's too expensive.
