Apartments Franka Old Town

The apartment looked lovely, and we had been excited to stay there. We booked a one-bedroom place in January for April 15-19, but the first Covid travel ban meant we couldn't get to Croatia. Rather than ask for a full refund, we politely requested a postponement to September 2020 and paid another €40. The hosts agreed. Then a second travel ban came in mid-August, so we had to cancel again through no fault of our own. I emailed to explain and said my partner and I hoped to stay in 2021, but got no reply. When I checked Booking.com, I saw the same apartment listed for the September dates we'd booked. I assumed they'd seen my cancellation email and was furious that they'd ignored it. I asked for a full refund because they'd taken our money without providing the service, which I believe is against my rights as a customer. Still no response. They wouldn't give me an option to postpone the stay we'd paid a large amount for, including the extra fee, and now they were taking another booking for the same apartment on the exact dates. That is stealing, by definition. I don't recommend booking with them. Good luck getting your money back.
