Apartments Plaza

There are 80 steps from the main street in Old Town Dubrovnik, then 12 more to the apartment and another 12 up to the kitchen and living room. So if stairs aren't for you, look elsewhere. But if you like a bit of adventure, the place has good facilities. It's clean, well kept, nicely furnished, and has a stellar view from the upstairs window. The rooms are a nice size, and I loved the location. If you want a taste of life in the Old City, this is for you.

Lydia was a lovely host, and the apartment is right in the center of Dubrovnik old town, making it easy to get around. Just be ready for about 70 steps to reach it, so it's not for anyone out of shape.

Lidija waited for us when our flight was delayed, which was great. The apartment was reasonably priced and had a city view that was well worth it. We hadn't realized it was spread over two floors, so that was a nice surprise.

You can't avoid the stairs, but if you're bringing luggage, go into the old town through the Buža gate. There are still plenty of steps, though at least they're downhill. We didn't do that, and it was a killer. The place itself is simple and a little dated, but cheap, right in the old town, with a comfy bed and superb air con.
