Central Apartment

I’ve never stayed anywhere worse. The place was like a dungeon underground, smelled disgusting, and things were broken or not working. The toilet tap leaked, and the showers had nowhere to put your belongings. The owner seemed to pick fights with customers as we checked in and was very aggressive. One of our friends tried to use our bathroom, and he followed her in and watched the door while she used the restroom. His behavior toward her was incredibly inappropriate. In the evening he changed the wifi password and refused to give the new one to any guests. Avoid this place at all costs.

Our triple-room stay for 3 days was lovely. The room was basic but had everything we needed, the aircon was great, and it was very quiet at night. There was also a lovely sea view and a brilliant location for getting into Dubrovnik old town. Our flight was delayed, but Nino gave us a warm welcome and was very helpful, showing us local things to do on a map. We’d read some reviews and weren’t sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised and would highly recommend staying here. Thank you!

The location is awesome, but it was very hard to find because there’s no big sign. Check-in isn’t 24 hours, and the owner was angry and told me off when I arrived late. Then he did a complete 180 and greeted me warmly. The hostel itself is underground next door to where you check in, and it’s quite cool down there. Towels were provided and the lockers were a decent size. The owner didn’t give me the other information, including the wifi password, so I had to get it from other guests. There’s only 1 toilet and 2 showers. The common area is right outside the rooms, and everything echoes, so don’t expect to sleep early.

Dubrovnik was great, and three days was plenty for seeing and doing things in the immediate area. I LOVED CROATIA! The location just outside the walls was good, fairly quiet, and close to the swimming and kayaking beach and forts. For eighty-euro a night, booked late in mid-August, I guess it was okay. The room was clean and had good a/c, while the wifi was spotty but fast when it worked. The shared bathroom was okay, but I don’t think it was cleaned during the 48hrs I was there. They used a beach towel for a hand-towel, and all the toiletries, soaps, lotions, shower caps and so on, were stolen from other hotels and airlines. Pretty funny, gotta save money out here! The room had been double booked, so I was kind of upgraded to one with an ensuite for one night. But I had to plan the next day around the owner’s strict 11am meeting time to change rooms. I told him if I went out for the day he’d just have to wait, since it wasn’t really my problem. Luckily, sort of, I was hungover from an awesome Old Town street party and was still around in the morning, so it worked out fine. Otherwise, the owner and the other staff and family were great.
