Centre Old Town Apartments

It was peaceful at night despite being right in the middle of the Old Town, and everything was an easy walk away. The apartment was spotless, comfortable, and made exploring so convenient. Dora was great throughout, quick to reply and helpful, and made check-in and check-out easy. I felt welcome and looked after, and I'll definitely come back.

We were exhausted when we arrived at 7:30 PM with all our luggage, but nobody was there to meet us. We waited outside for nearly half an hour trying to get through to someone, then were told to come back at 10 PM, with no explanation or apology. Once we finally got in, the host demanded cash even though the booking said cards were accepted. They also added an unexplained extra fee to the agreed price. We were short by only €1, but the host reacted with a humiliating outburst in front of other guests that was completely out of proportion. The room was below even basic standards: the sheets were dirty, it smelled musty, fixtures were broken, there was no hot water, and the heating didn't work. That was unacceptable for the time of year. It felt more like a scam than a real hotel. After we checked out and paid in full, the host canceled the booking through the platform and marked us as no-shows, apparently trying to charge us twice. When we challenged this, they threatened to contact Booking.com and demand another payment unless we agreed not to post a negative review. I've never had a more unpleasant or unprofessional travel experience. The host was dishonest and manipulative, the service was nonexistent, and the accommodation was substandard. There are plenty of better, more honest places nearby. Stay far away.

Dora was very responsive and went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. She was so accommodating and made me feel welcome and well looked after. The room was charming, cozy, and carefully decorated, with a duplex layout and the bathroom upstairs. The location in the heart of Dubrovnik's Old Town was unbeatable, with landmarks and everything else I wanted close by. After exploring the scorching streets, the AC worked perfectly. The room stayed quiet at night, and the bedding was very comfortable, so I slept well. I'd highly recommend the place and would return in a heartbeat.

Dora was a super nice host, and the location was excellent. The room was clean, quiet, and cozy, the AC worked really well without making much noise, and the other amenities were all in good condition. A few drawbacks: payment was cash only, the stairs to the bathroom were difficult, and there was no daily housekeeping. After coffee, I had to go upstairs to clean my cup.
