Guest House Kono

The house is really comfortable and sits right by the main road. Getting to the city center on foot is the drawback, especially with those 500 steps.

The view was far better in person than the photos suggested, and the nearby restaurants were both excellent and inexpensive. The owners were very kind and patient with our family. We chose Guest House Kono after comparing local reviews because we wanted a scenic place near the tourist spots we planned to see, and we were glad we did. I'd consider staying here if you're visiting Montenegro.

The location takes some planning. You'll need to drive or use the bus, and it's worth knowing the route and schedule in advance. Walking to the beach means about 30 minutes uphill on stairs, the Old Town is around 45 minutes away, and the nearest shop is a 20-minute walk with roughly 200 steps. The apartment itself was spotless, comfortable, newly decorated, and had a great view. Wi-Fi was excellent, parking was easy and away from the main road, and having a washer was handy. They even supplied detergent, softener, and basic toiletries, including after-sun lotion. Good value.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, but we didn't get the apartment shown in the booking.com photos, which had a lovely terrace. The one we were given had neither a terrace nor a view. They blamed the agent for the misleading listing and said we'd have to pay another 30 euros to move to the pictured apartment. We turned that down.
