The shared bathroom was clean, though the hot water wasn't always there. That kept it from being a five-star stay for me. The room itself was tidy and had a private balcony and mini fridge, and the owner was kind and helpful. It's a little way from the old city, but the map makes that clear. I was unsure after reading the Google reviews, but ended up liking the place.

Booking.com eventually told us it was an overbooking, and at 21h we were still trying to sort out somewhere to sleep that night. On check-in day, the host claimed there was a broken bed and a broken toilet pipe and cancelled the first of our two booked nights. Before that, they had tried to charge us extra for breakfast that wasn't in the reservation we'd made and paid for weeks earlier. The way it was handled showed no respect for us as clients. This was the most unreliable person we've ever dealt with. Draw your own conclusions.

Here are the messages I got from Guesthouse Alliya: They first wrote, “Hi. Please cancel.it is free cancelation”. I replied that I'd booked weeks earlier when prices were lower, and cancelling to find somewhere else would cost me, so I asked why I should cancel. Their answer was, “Hi. We are over booked. Sorry. All best”. I pointed out that I couldn't be the one overbooked, and that Booking showed my reservation as confirmed. Then Guesthouse Alliya replied, “Mr.luca if you dont cancel i Will do that. It happens even in hotel to be over booked. Best regards”.

The view was lovely, and the place was convenient. The host was very helpful.

The hostess was really nice, and there was free parking. I also liked that we could order food in the house. The room was clean and had a small private balcony. The downside is the distance from the center, about 2km, or a 40 min walk.
