Hostel Amnesia

The hostel is right in the middle of Dubrovnik’s old town, which is the one thing I liked. The facilities were very disappointing: I shared a tiny, overcrowded room with 11 other people, and there was only one bathroom, which was usually dirty and nearly always involved a queue. Two clubs next door played loud music until at least 2am every day, so getting rest was difficult. At the end of my stay I asked to print one paper and was charged 2 euros. Unbelievable.

Great position and cheap. The host is awesome, and you get 30% off at the restaurant downstairs. But this place suits you only if you’re happy partying until at least 2.30 at night. The nightclubs are so loud it feels like you’re sleeping inside one, and it depends on the room. Mine was 5m away. I stayed awake and was okay with it, but they wake you in the morning, so you can only sleep until 11.

The room was full, with 8 beds and a separate shower and toilet room, plus a nice living room beside the bedroom. It was cheap, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The receptionist pointed us toward inexpensive places to go, too. I’d recommend staying here.

The nearby clubs make it noisy at night, and the wifi doesn’t work well, but I still have to give this place a great rating. Receptionist ANNA was fantastic. She gave me a really good orientation to Dubrovnik’s Old Town, with tips on saving money and places I shouldn’t miss. The location is VERY GOOD, right inside the Old Town, so I could go back to the hostel anytime without hassle. Isn’t that amazing!
