Hotel Komodor

Good value for what we paid, especially if you're on a small holiday budget. The location is lovely, and the food was a good standard. Staff were very friendly, and the rooms were very clean and serviced daily. The only real downside was having no lift in the annex, though the stairs do keep you fit. I'd recommend it.

The balcony had a great view, and the service was good. Breakfast was average, with horrible juice and poor-quality cold cuts. We stayed in the main building, where the rooms are very old. The bathroom needs updating: the sink was so low it could hit my knees and was always clogged, and the shower was bad. With a renovated bathroom, the rooms could look nice.

The location was perfect and the staff were nice, but the hotel felt very old and our room was tiny. We were in the Annex, which has no elevator. There wasn't much in the way of amenities either, just the basics, with no minibar or coffee maker.

The staff and location were the saving graces. Buses are nearby, there's a small supermarket across the street, and the beach and a promenade with nice restaurants are very close. Everyone I dealt with was brilliant, from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant and especially the bar. Zoran was friendly, attentive, caring, and entertaining. I'd probably skip another stay here, but I'd happily drop by to cheer Zoran. The room itself was terrible for what you pay. The supposed park view was a joke, the toilet was tiny, and its door wouldn't close. Everything was worn out, including a bed that should have been replaced ten years ago. Cigarette smoke came into the room, and voices from the courtyard were sometimes bothersome. Breakfast was generous enough, with a mix of local and continental food. The coffee machine could be better, and the bread selection too, but otherwise it was fine. The chef kept checking that there was enough of everything and that it stayed fresh.
