The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old town and about a minute’s walk from the Main Street. We stayed five days, and the room was modern and spotless, with all the amenities for a cosy stay, including a small kitchenette and en-suite facilities with shower gel and shampoo. The air conditioning was powerful. I also liked the door, which had a blackout option, a ventilation window and could open fully. We’d arranged an early check-in through Booking.com, and our lovely host was very attentive over WhatsApp. When we asked for fresh towels, they brought them with a little chocolate bar, a really nice touch. Our hosts were courteous and nothing felt like too much trouble. A couple of things to know: the property is reached by steps, so it isn’t suitable for people with accessibility requirements. The shower, toilet and sinks all run through a macerator, which can be quite loud while water is running, though only briefly. The apartments are next to steps with heavy foot traffic, so you may hear outside noise at night.

I stayed in the single room for just 23 euro, though that was because it was winter. There were lots of useful facilities, including a hair dryer, refrigerator and coffee pot, and the location was good. One wall in her house had loads of notes from travelers, many Korean and Japanese. This place is well known among Koreans. Linda was very kind, and her kids were lovely. I bought beef and chicken at the konzum and asked if I could use her kitchen. She grilled it for me, so I had beef steak and medallion for two dinners for only 50 kuna. I’ll miss the old town atmosphere and Linda’s family. Thanks so much, Linda!

Linda was a great host, nothing was too much trouble, and we had a lovely four-night stay. The apartment was comfortable, with a double bed, lovely linen and plenty of towels. Toiletries were provided, too. The bathroom was small, and the kitchen was separate, with a microwave but no cooker or hob. The central location was great. There are lots of steps to reach the property, as there are in many places in Croatia.
